Nearly 300 volunteers built a playground on Dec. 6 for the Nick Capitano Boys & Girls Club, 1218 E. Kay St. They installed climbing elements, slides and swings on the 3,200-square-foot playground. The project was funded by the MetLife Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay. KaBOOM!, a Washington-based nonprofit group got the organizations together, helped design the playground and supervised the construction of the playground set.
