Members of the New Port Richey Fire Department used electric and hydraulic tools to cut into an old school bus Monday as they trained for rescuing people trapped in accidents involving school buses. The New Port Richey Marine Institute donated three buses to the fire department to assist in the training. The fire department's firefighters are participating in training this week, and some members are training to be recertified with the Florida Urban Search and Rescue team, which includes the New Port Richey Fire Department. ...more

I would like to make a suggestion in order to save some money on gas for publicly funded vehicles. I think we should charge parents of the public school system children $10 per day to ride the bus to school since they, too, are "wasting gas." ...more
