I can't understand the thinking of our leaders: federal, state, county, city or others. When times are so hard with people out of work, striving to try and feed their families and keeping a roof over their heads and trying to pay their bills, what happens? The state wants to raise the price of car tags, title transfers and driver's licenses. ...more

How can anyone read Terry Collins' letter and not laugh out loud? To blame a president, left with a mess like he was, to turn it around in four and a half months is beyond me. Everything Mr. Collins complains about happened while his "boys," G. Worthless and The Grim Reaper (Cheney), were in office. Oh, doesn't the president have veto power over any bills that cross his desk? Thought so. ...more

And what about the credit card corporations? ...more

These folks face years of living on fixed incomes from pensions, 401(k)s or IRAs, and Social Security, but don't have the time to recover their losses. ...more

Priorities Upside Down During my 12-year tenure as a state legislator in New Hampshire, I had the responsibility at one point to serve as chairman of the House Committee on State Institutions in order to oversee the operation and standards of our Youth Development Center (YDC) along with other state facilities. Governmental overview of state institutions is always needed, although experience shows that it is seldom productive. ...more
