SEBRING –– After battling a case of the nerves in Friday night's first-round 10-0 loss to Sebring, Avon Park bounced back in a big way in the Dixie AAA District 8 tournament at Max Long Recreational Complex. The boys in red and white eliminated Clewiston from the double-elimination tournament by a score of 14-4 on Saturday morning, and then stormed from behind to eliminate Okeechobee National 12-11 on Saturday afternoon. Okeechobee National took an early 2-0 lead, but Avon Park answered with five runs in the second inning.
