I would like to know why nothing is ever printed about the retired people that can never collect on the No Fault insurance? I'm told that as a 65-year-old retired person, if I'm in an accident and hospitalized, that Medicare pays the hospital first, then my second insurance company, and then, if anything is owed, the PIP Insurance might pay something. As a retired person on Social Security and Medicare, there would be no loss of work benefits. Also, the cost of my insurance went up $78 a year. My grandson who lives with me is 25 years old, has had no accidents and no tickets. His insurance went up $80 a year. So, he called his agent and wanted to know why. ...more

I have been driving for 40 years and I have to admit, I really know nothing about insurance. However, it seemed to me that if I was no longer required to carry PIP insurance, that would mean a savings on my premium, right? Oh so wrong. It seems that the insurance company I use has decided to charge me more for all my other coverage. So instead of saving $67.50, my other coverage has been increased by $53.40. ...more

Concerning your opinion in the editorial of Thursday, Sept. 13, about the Branham trial, you seem to be giving credence to hearsay. You say Michael's major contribution to his family's income was suing people. Just a couple of years before the shooting, Michael had a serious accident while riding a motorcycle. Along with other severe bodily injuries, he suffered a traumatic brain injury. After a long hospital stay, he came home to spend many days and weeks recuperating. If he sued, he was probably entitled to do so and if he received anything, it was undoubtedly an insurance company's money. You refer to "his long reign of bullying." Only someone who had known Michael a long time could make that assessment. How long have you know Michael? You also say, "Michael Branham has always thought he was smarter than everybody else." ...more
