In the world of today we rarely hear about the good things but we always hear of the bad things. I would like to report on a Good Samaritan act that I witnessed last week. Jerry Kline, a U.S. Postal worker, who was off duty, came into the office at Tomoka Heights and asked if he might enter into the community. Since Tomoka Heights is a gated community he was asked why and where did he want to go? Upon finding out that he wanted to visit a certain address, he was told that the party was not home and could the office help him. Mr. Kline then told the office that he had found a handbag on U.S. 27 and wanted to return the handbag to the owner. Fortunately the office had been told of the residents' whereabouts and in short order the office was able to make the call to the place of business and report the good news. ...more
