Changes made at a homeless camp in Hudson should satisfy a judge at an April 1 hearing about county citations for zoning and building code violations, an attorney representing Elisha Ministries said. President Barack Obama's proposal to limit the tax deductibility of charitable contributions would effectively transfer more than $7 billion a year from the nation's charitable institutions to the federal government. But the high-income taxpayers affected by the rule change are likely to cut their charitable giving by as much as the increase in their tax bills, which would, ironically, leave their remaining income and personal consumption unchanged. ...more

Even the NCAA wants to make sure Tim Tebow, the University of Florida's All-American person and star quarterback, is not tripped up by one of the organization's many rules and restrictions that often seem to go ridiculous extremes. The NCAA, college sport's governing body, announced that it worked closely with the UF athletic department to ensure Tebow's eligibility was not unknowingly affected by fundraising related to his father's missionary work. ...more
