Regarding "Landfill a Good Deal for Pasco," (Other Views, Dec. 26) Bill Newton is only telling part of the story about the landfill proposed for Pasco County. The issue is not the need for a hi-tech way to dispose of garbage. The reason many of us oppose it is that the developers want to put the landfill close to the Green Swamp, which supplies all the water for the Hillsborough County watershed. ...more
