Mr. Jones, you are absolutely correct when you stated we should or should not elect a president because of his or her color. However, that being said, there are some definite qualities and morals that come into the equation. First of all, let me state that most companies and organizations require much more experience when hiring someone for a management position. All the public seems to care about is a person's charisma to run the country with the biggest economy on the face of the Earth. ...more

SEBRING – There seems to be quite a bit of commercial office space available in the area, but not at the refurbished Wachovia Bank building in Sebring. Nearly all of the space in the 32,840 square-foot building located next to Burger King has been leased. That's good news for Jimmy and Jeri Wohl and Martha and David Hatch. The couples, who are partners in 3200 Properties LLC, took ownership of the building last August. "We're just real happy to be about full not even a year into ownership," David Hatch said. The two couples have spent several thousand dollars on the building, which was built in 1998 by Thomas Wohl and had damage on the third and fourth floors from Hurricane Charley in 2004. ...more

It is hard to imagine how much rain it will take to fill the lake to its normal level, which is almost four feet above the present level. However, I still want to keep my boat running in case it ever rains. Here's a tip if you have found that your boat is getting hard to start or the battery seems to be a bit low, as was my problem a few weeks ago when I tried to warm up the 20-year-old engine. ...more

Anyone who thought Sen. Barack Obama was getting a free ride in his quest for the White House needs to think again. His Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, along with many Republicans, have started the mudslinging and body blows. That's because they are scared of the man who seems to be generating interest across party lines and throughout the country. Clinton stomped her feet and cried foul about something Obama said concerning her support for NAFTA in the 1990s. He said that as first lady, when her husband was a big promoter of free trade, that she also supported it. For some reason his statement enrages her now. That's strange, because she never mentioned anything against NAFTA before. ...more
