State Clubs Illinois Club of Spring Hill will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Forest Oaks Lutheran Church, 8555 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. The object of the club is to promote fellowship, social and fraternal activities for former residents of Illinois. In addition to monthly meetings, activities include eating out at a local restaurant each month and group travel opportunities. Annual dues are $12 per person. All former Illinois residents and their partners are invited to join the club or to come as a guest prior to making a decision to join. Hernando County AARP Chapter 1026 will meet Thursday, May 29, at The Cracked Egg Restaurant, 4670 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. The first speaker will be Michelle Cyr of the AARP St. Petersburg office. Cyr is program coordinator for the advocacy team, informing and mobilizing AARP efforts within the county and state. The second speaker will be Jonadab Uzoho, D.O., who will discuss the risk factors of falling, a concern for all seniors as they age. Recreation Chinsegut Nature Center will conduct a Map and Compass class from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at the Nature Center located at 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville. The class will be presented by Chinsegut volunteers. Since seating is limited to 30 people, reservations are required. The public is welcome.
