Hernando Christian Academy announced the resignation of varsity baseball coach Scott Boer. Coach Boer has accepted a managerial position with another organization. With his new responsibilities, he realized he would not be able to dedicate the time and energy needed to head a varsity interscholastic baseball program. Coach Boer will be sorely missed as he led his teams to two district titles in three years and two appearances in the regional semifinals of the FHSAA State Playoffs.
Assistant Head Football Coach Mike D'Ambrosio has been tabbed to be Coach Boer's successor.
Coach D'Ambrosio graduated from Citrus High School in 1987. He attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette, and played both defensive tackle in football and catcher in baseball. Coach D' Ambrosio graduated from UIU in 1991 with a degree in physical education.
D'Ambrosio served as the varsity baseball and football coach at Elkton Christian Academy in Elkton, Maryland from 2004-2008, where he also taught physical education.
