Builders endorse GOP candidates

BROOKSVILLE - The Hernando Builders Association is endorsing all Republicans in the November general election.

HBA President Chris Glover said it was coincidental that all GOP candidates are on the endorsement list. There are Republicans and Democrats on the group's political action committee and their final recommendations were based on the track record of incumbents and the views of the challengers, he said.

Glover said about 13 people invited to the interviews showed up and about four did not.

Glover stressed that the endorsements are only recommendations and that HBA members are free to vote however they want.

The committee invited all candidates to an interview and those who responded were voted on by a panel of five members.

Each candidate was asked the same series of questions for their respective positions and questions were based on building industry issues facing the county and state.
