Right to opinionPublished: September 16, 2012
I read the letters to the editor on Sept. 13 and this is a response to one of them.
We here in this USA have a right to our own opinions, yes as I said in my letter of Sept. 9. We have a right to vote for the party of our choice, whether Democrats or Republicans but some people read into what other say and twist things to there liking, I choose to deal in facts myself.
I get tried of hearing the same oh, same oh from people that can't address their President as such. Sometimes you wonder who brought these people up in life. I am glad when I was young enough to learn right from wrong and when my grandmother slapped me in the cuff of the neck for not being respectfully to my elders, including the President of this USA.
I have respected every president of the United States since that younger age no matter what party he was affiliated with. I call him president first before his name, no matter how he performs, he still deserves the title. I read how people can be so disrespectful when things do not go in their favor, they start to show there real colors and its not the red, white and blue.
I am a disable veteran, I believe in this country and served it well with my commitment in the 60's and was proud to serve. I do not believe war is the answer to what this county needs.
What this county needs is to start taking care of its own first and stop giving aid to those 150 countries. They need to spend our hard earned tax dollars here. Does anybody know what these wars cost this country?
Let's get real, if you want to blame someone, then blame both parties because the Democrats and Republicans are both responsible for the mess we are in today. Really does it matter who is in office at any level, they all have got there fingers in the cash register and looking for the handouts from the lobbyist. Until that stops, our country will always be in debt to others.
So when you comment on what other people take the time to write in letters to the editor, show a little respect to the Commander In Chief, no matter what party he or she belongs too, they deserve your respect and i not your ignorance of self.

Where's the president?
On Thursday, Sept. 13, there was a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., for one of America's greatest heroes, Neil Armstrong.
Among the people attending was his family, many fellow astronauts, members of Congress, and other dignitaries.
Conspicuously missing from this service was our president and commander-in-chief, Barack Obama.
Where was our president? Was he meeting with his national security team about the killing of our ambassador and 3 of his aides in Libya? Was he meeting with the Israeli prime minister about the critical situation in Iran? Was he meeting with his job council on how to get Americans back to work?
The answer to those questions, sadly, is no. The president was in Las Vegas, Nevada campaigning. That was more important than paying tribute to a true American hero? I guess we see what's more important to Barack Obama. Maybe he was ashamed to show up, as our space program was shut down under his watch.
I now challenge the liberal empty suits on MSNBC to defend the president on this one!

Dishonesty the cause
Where has honesty gone? It is gone, leaving us in the hands of dishonest company officials and in the hands of dishonest congressmen.
The news media only prints 15 percent of the acts of dishonesty and the other 85 percent you never hear of.
One of the most recent acts of dishonesty was committed by dishonest mortgage brokers and dishonest bankers which resulted in our economic collapse and depression.
At the very head of these dishonest mortgage brokers was Countrywide Mortgage Co., who issued trillions of dollars of sub-prime mortgages.
Subprime mortgages were given to anyone, particularly the port, as encouraged by a democratic congress. These were people who normally could not qualify for a mortgage and who eventually could not afford to pay for their mortgages which went into default.
The reason that their dishonest sub-prime mortgage loans were approved by a democratic congress in the 1990's was that Senator Dooo and key Democratic congressmen were paid off by Countrywide Mortgage Co. Hundreds of mortgage companies and banks joined Countrywide Mortgage Co. in issuing dishonest sub-prime mortgage loans.
The growing dishonesty of all of these mortgage loan companies and banks in making sub-prime mortgage loans, knowing that these loans were dishonest and fraudulent and knowing that in the near future that all of these sub-prime mortgage loans would eventually go into default and destroy our economy. They did not care.
It was all about the money made by these mortgage makers, large fees were paid to them for making the loan and even larger fees made by selling these mortgage loans, and the country be damned.
Trillions of dollars of sub-prime mortgage loans were purchased by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from hundreds of dishonest mortgage lenders, all without any due diligence to verify that the loans were legitimate or safe, purposely overlooking due diligence in order to build up a large portfolio of mortgage loans to justify fraudulent bonus' to their officials.
Eventually Fannie and Freddie got stuck with defaults in all of its sub-prime mortgage loans, with a loss in the trillions of dollars. All of the cost to our tax payers. All of the above dishonesty was the direct cause of our economic collapse and the hard times we are having today.
You can also thank our democratic congressmen for permitting this disaster to occur, all for payoffs to them by a dishonest company.
What kind of example does the above acts of dishonesty show to the public? A very bad example.
Unfortunately, nothing is being done to criminally charge these dishonest mortgage officers and government officials who wrecked our economy for their crimes by our present administration.
The after effect of all of this dishonesty and fraud has been to encourage dishonesty and fraud and not to worry about any penalty for our acts.
These bad people need to be charged criminally.
