As of Tuesday afternoon, 5,397 people have taken advantage of early voting in Hernando County.

Also, out of the 30,181 requested absentee ballots, 18,868 have been returned to the supervisor of elections office.

"We are having a great turnout for early voting," Supervisor of Elections Annie Williams said. "Lines are moving along very well."

Historically, more people vote in presidential elections, Williams said. She hopes to exceed the 72.06 percent turnout Hernando County had in the 2008 General Election.

Early voting continues through Saturday, Nov. 3 at the westside elections office at 7443 Forest Oaks Blvd. or the downtown Brooksville office at 20 North Main St.

Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Absentee ballots must be received in the elections office no later than 7 p.m. election night, Nov. 6.

For people's convenience, the supervisor of elections' office has included the early voting wait times at both offices.
