Showing their true colors

The Obama campaign has just hoisted a Freudian slip flag up their flag pole. The Betsy Ross' of the Obama campaign have replaced the stars, which represent the states, with the Obama logo. By replacing the states — "we the people" — with the Obama logo — President Obama — they are flying their true colors.Published: October 3, 2012
One of the most unbelievable comments ever made by a politician was made by Bill Clinton. When asked if his administration would return the government surplus to the taxpayers, Clinton responded that he wouldn't because the taxpayers could not be trusted to do the right thing with the money. Here, is the unmasked elitist attitude of liberals in all of its glory. Clinton came out of the Oval Office cloakroom closet (pardon the pun) long enough to put it on public display.
Liberals believe they are God's gift to us. They, not us, know what is best for us. Therefore, they should confiscate our money and regulate our lives, since we don't have sense enough to do the right thing with our money or the right things in our lives.
If one listens carefully, liberals frequently let the cat out of the bag. For instance, when President Obama said to Joe the plumber, "When you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody," he clearly showed himself to be a socialist wolf in red, white, and blue sheep's clothing.
I recently watched an old classic movie entitled "Gabriel Over the White House." It tells the story of an American president declaring martial law during a great depression and time of international crisis. Portrayed as a benevolent dictator the president is cast in the light of a savior, who not only saves the country but the world.
I originally thought the movie had to be a parody of the presidency of FDR. I was surprised to learn, however, that it was actually made during the Hoover presidency. Perhaps, the movie was Hollywood's way of promoting the idea of America's need for a benevolent dictator in the White House. In the end, I was left with the unshakable suspicion that FDR must have seen the movie and modeled his presidency after it.
President Obama has made no secret of the fact that he is modeling his presidency after FDR's. No sooner had he been elected, when his fellow-Democrats began promising a new "New Deal." As Paul Krugman wrote in the New York Times, "Suddenly, everything old is New Deal again. Reagan is out; FDR is in."
Remember what they say about history — If you don't learn from it, you're destined to repeat it. I fear repeating the benevolent dictator idea in today's America will have a far different ending than it did during FDR's Administration. Back then, "the people of this country wanted no part of a dictatorship," as Democratic Congressman John O'Connor announced to President Roosevelt from the floor of the United States House of Representatives. Today, however, America looks ripe for a dictator and ready to salute a new flag.
Attention, salute, pledge: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the Obama nation and to the socialist government for which it stands, one multicultural police state under our benevolent dictator, with indenturing government entitlements for all."
