Brooksville burglary victim gets drug charge

BROOKSVILLE - The woman who was burglarized and pistol-whipped by a group of men in April faces a criminal charge of her own.Published: October 3, 2012
Amber Nicole Murwin, 18, of 6353 Candiece St. in Port Richey, was booked Tuesday on one count of possession of marijuana in excess of 20 grams.
At the time of the April 11 burglary, Murwin was living in an apartment off Hickory Street in Brooksville.
Murwin and a friend were inside the apartment when five men stormed inside, struck them with handguns and stole several items – including a laptop, firearm and marijuana, according to the Brooksville Police Department.
Murwin and her friend identified two of the suspects, Edgeton E. Everett and Elbert P. Hall Jr., both of whom were later arrested and charged.
There were blood stains throughout the living room, but neither Murwin nor her friend was seriously injured during the home invasion and both declined medical attention, according to police.
Chief George Turner said some marijuana was left behind and Murwin admitted to possessing it.
Murwin turned herself in Tuesday night and was released a short time later after posting $5,000 bail.
The identities of the other three burglary suspects are still unknown by detectives, but the case remains open, Turner said.
