Coming together

No matter what Presidential election I ever voted in, whether my guy won or lost, after the election I always felt that whoever held the office, he was my president and I would back him and pray he had the right stuff and people to help to straighten this country up.

This seems to have disappeared in recent years it has become and remains an us against them mentality. This has to stop. We can never solve any problems if we remain a country divided.

We have to put aside our petty (most of the time uninformed and selfness views) and work together. Romney said he did it Massachusetts. That could not have happened if the Democrats would have stonewalled him.

Did Romney work with the Democrats or did the Democrats work with him, does it really matter. Does it really matter if a Republican or a Democratic president gets us going again? Just as long as we get going!

We need to forget blue vs. red and unite as Americans. This starts in the streets and will run right to D.C as we are their bosses (that's why voting is important). Let's show the world we can do it.

Turning a corner

It's now official. The America I knew is dead. The America I grew up in is a thing of the past. The America where you knew if you worked hard you could make something of yourself. The America where if you applied yourself, you could achieve your goals is gone. The America where your dream could become your reality is a thing of the past.

With the re-election of Barack Obama we can close the books on that America. We have finally turned the corner. The majority of people now are just looking for a hand out, not a hand up. We are a country now where you look at what the other guy has achieved, and the government takes it away from him, and gives it to you. We are a country where the incentive is now dead; you just want something handed to you. It is your right.

I can almost understand Obama getting elected in 2008. He was new on the scene (really new, huh?). He made so many promises to America. He was going to change our country, he was going to change the world, and he was even going to stop the rise of the oceans!

But, he didn't keep most of his promises. His policies took us backward, not "Forward," as was his new campaign theme. So, with his dismal record, you re-elected him?

I say good you deserve what you'll get from him. Nothing he can do in his next four years' can hurt me. My pension is secure, our house is fully paid, and we have no intention of moving, so the bad housing market will not affect us.

Ironically, it will be the younger generations, who supported him, who would be negatively affected the most. I don't want to hear you complaining when you can't get a job after graduating college.

I don't want to hear that your house is worth half of what you paid for it, and you can't move now. I don't want to hear that your 401k is now a 201k, or that your children and grandchildren have a huge deficit to deal with. And, I don't want to hear the crying when Social Security finally runs dry.

So, sit back and bask in your victory. Sit back and watch the national debt clock spin out of control. Watch as our country is given away to people who want things given to them, rather than work for them. Sit back and watch the country start that slide down the slope to third world status. Remember, your actions in life have consequences.

Your election of Barack Obama will have consequences for you. Unfortunately, you will not like those consequences. And oh, by the way, that laughing you will hear will be coming from me.
