Four arrested in Spring Hill drug sweep

SPRING HILL - A recent patrol of areas in Spring Hill known for drug activity resulted in four arrests, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

The special patrol conducted by the sheriff's office vice narcotics unit occurred on Nov. 1.

During the patrols, several traffic stops were conducted in Spring Hill.

Those arrested are as follows:

Her bond was set at $41,000.

Howard Davis. 62, was arrested on a charge of possession of crack cocaine. Deputies seized 3.3 grams of crack cocaine, $272 and a 2004 Acura 4-door vehicle.

His bond was set at $20,000.

Lawrence Gillespie, 48, was arrested on charges of possession of Oxycodone and driving with a suspended license.

His bond was set at $5,500.

Richard Hart, 41, was arrested on charges of trafficking in Oxycodone, possession of methamphetamine, crack cocaine and marijuana with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a daycare.

His bond was set at $110,500.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis said the operation was extremely successful and future operations are planned for other areas of the county.

"We will continue to ensure that our streets are a safe place to live, work and play," he added.

As of this Wednesday, all subjects have bonded out with the exception of Richard Hart, who remains incarcerated at the Hernando County Jail.
