Pushed to the brink

Earth to Ms. Karas_ Instead of berating the messenger – Doug Patton in this case, you might better check the message.

The Obama administration is trampling the religious rights of Christians, Catholics in particular; there was no compromise passed; the situation remains the same. A confusing one-minute statement read by Obama from his ever-present teleprompter, did not change the initial provisions of the insurance mandate.

Seven states in addition to a growing list of religious institutions have initiated lawsuits against Obama's attack on religious freedom. In a Feb. 22 letter to U.S. bishops now-Cardinal Dolan stated: "The mandate to provide the illicit services remains. The exceedingly narrow exemption for churches remains. Despite the outcry, all the threats to religious liberty posed by the initial rules remains."

In addition to the bishops, a group of Protestant ministers from many denominations, has sent a message to the White House declaring "a state of emergency" over the insurance mandate which would force religious employers to violate their consciences. Dr. Norman Lund, a Lutheran, stated that the issue is not birth control (as the media pretends), but rather the freedom of churches to determine their own policies and positions on such issues.

Despite your protests, Ms. Karas, Mr. Patton does, indeed, understand the "Mayhem" perpetrated by Obama and his czars over the last three years. His socialist ideology has driven the country to the brink of total destruction. He is the one who must be replaced, not truth-tellers like Doug Patton.

Our government at work

The food stamp program, part of the "Department of Agriculture," is pleased to be distributing the largest amount of food stamps ever. This administration is very proud of the fact. I'll bet you have seen their mouth pieces touting this achievement all over your TV Screens.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the "Department of Agriculture," requests that we "Please Do Not Feed the Animals" because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves. Duh!, the connection with the first paragraph never enters their minds. Isn't our government great?

So let me get this straight. They pass out food to the humans but not animals, because handing out freebees makes animals dependent and they no longer want to work for their food. They hand out freebees to the human animals, and I guess since they are handing it out, it's because they want them to become dependent causing them to not want to work for their food. Does continuous unemployment ring a bell here? Over two years and counting now with that check coming in. Aren't greed and sloth great things?

The above paragraph is a primer on why the Soviet Union bit the dust in 1986. Everything was given to them and they didn't have to work for a living. They had almost twice as much tillable land and we were selling them grain.

They just didn't have anyone who wanted to work to put in the crops and then harvest them. Too much work for them so it was let someone else do it. Bye bye, after only 70 years, to the great Socialist experiment.

Sounds like what is going on here. I would guess in about 20 to 25 years from now the United States will go under for the same reason. Our percentage of the population who want someone else to pay for their living is about 50 percent plus now and growing every year.

This President and his white house aides and czars are working very hard to bring this country down. They have their 50 percent of the vote necessary for reelection now. They are, however, working at more handouts to hedge their bets a little.

It's going to be a spoof watching the grinding of teeth and wailing that will be coming along. I'm going to hang in there for awhile just to see it. I'm 70 now so by the time I am 95 it should be about over.
