BROOKSVILLE - All national and state flags at the Hernando County Government Center, Brooksville City Hall and at the Capitol in Tallahassee will be lowered to half-staff Monday in honor of Spc. Clarence Williams III.

Williams, a native of Brooksville, died on July 9, 2012, in Wardak Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He will be buried Monday at the Veterans National Cemetery in Bushnell.

The Hernando County Administrator's Office received a letter Friday from the Office of the Governor directing the lowering of the flags in honor of Williams.
