BROOKSVILLE - More details have emerged about Hernando County Realtors Association President Gary Budek's arrest on charges of committing sex acts against a minor.Published: December 27, 2012
A sheriff's office report said that, between June and October of this year, Budek, 50, intentionally touched in a lewd and lascivious manner the breasts of a girl. Her name and age are not being released by the sheriff's office.
Budek was at his office at Prudential Tropical Realty at 2166 Mariner Blvd. On three separate occasions, the victim was in the office doing school work, assisting and doing other odd jobs for employees.
On one occasion, the girl had sugar on her lips and Budek licked it off her face and attempted to kiss her by putting his tongue in her mouth, the report said.
On another occasion, Budek allegedly rubbed the victim's neck and slid his hands down her shirt, touching her breasts.
The girl told deputies Budek touched her breasts on two other occasions.
On Dec. 10, the girl made a controlled call to Budek and during the conversation, he told her he was sorry for touching her chest and that it wouldn't happen again.
Budek later told a deputy that he was making coffee at night in the office and put sugar on her face.
Budek jokingly made a motion to lick the sugar from her face and accidentally his tongue hit her mouth, the report said.
Budek admitted to the allegations described by the victim and said it was an "intentional act and momentary lapse in judgment."
Budek was charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim age 12-18 years old. He is out of jail on $15,000 bond.
Debra Myers, incoming president of the HCAR, said Budek will remain in his current position, which expires Dec. 31.
Budek is no longer employed at Prudential Tropical Realty.
Myers said the matter is now in the hands of law enforcement and the HCAR has chosen not to comment at this time.
According to his booking information, Budek is required to have no contact with the victim or her family. He is also required to wear a GPS monitor.
Budek is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 8 in Hernando County District Court.
