Budek resigns as Realtor's president

BROOKSVILLE - Gary Budek, arrested and charged with three counts of lewd and lascivious conduct on a female minor, has resigned as president of the Hernando County Association of Realtors.

Incoming HCAR President Debra Myers confirmed that Budek submitted his resignation Wednesday and that she will be acting president until Jan. 1, when she takes over the position officially for 2013.

Budek is also no longer employed at Prudential Tropical Realty.

According to his booking information, Budek is required to have no contact with the victim or her family. He is also required to wear a GPS monitor.

Budek is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 8 in Hernando County District Court.
