SPRING HILL - Renee Negron of Spring Hill told sheriff's deputies she stole a hat and various health and beauty items at Walmart because she was unemployed and wanted to look good while job hunting.Published: December 10, 2012
A store asset protection employee told deputies she observed Negron, 46, take an empty plastic Walmart bag from a register and place items into it as she went to different sections of the store, at 13300 Cortez Blvd.
She bypassed all points of sale and entered the on-site McDonald's restaurant and bought a meal, the report said.
While eating, she removed a hat, ripped off the retail tag and placed it on her head, the report said.
At the end of her meal, deputies said Negron left Walmart without attempting to purchase the items she hid in the bag. Total merchandise value was $65.96.
Negron was arrested and taken to the Hernando County Jail, where she was held on a $250 bond.
