Elks visit youth camp

On Saturday, Feb. 11, Elk Lodge members throughout Florida gathered in Umatilla at the Elks youth camp.

Elks from the Florida Lodges gave thousands of dollars to the Harry Anna Trust Fund and the Elks National Foundation. Both organizations contribute to the Elks Youth Camp where children of active service people may attend free. They also give to the Elks Therapy Van program and to local communities consisting of 21 therapists who travel in vans to service young people in their homes at no fee.Without the Elks support, children would receive nothing.

Grand Exalted Ruler David Carr (GER) was introduced. He is the CEO of all U.S. Elk Lodges. He stated that the youth camp is beautiful and is a world class facility. Attending from Brooksville Elks Lodge were: District Vice President PER Joe Morrow, PDD Donna Zuk, Chaplan Darlene Keck, PER Paul Stark and Publicity chairperson Sylvia Stark.
