Syria can murder thousands of people while the rest of the world looks on — or should I say looks away.

What an amazing difference with the Libyan situation where the casualties were less but the country itself without cover from any great powers. So what did NATO do? Probably acted outside its charter and the bombing and other military action commenced against the Gadhafi regime.

While it was mainly the French and English flying sorties, we did expend millions of dollars in ordnance in the operation. With that situation apparently under control, the attention of the world turned to the verbal assault against the Assad government, which hears nothing of the complaints from the western world as well as the Arab League.

While there are efforts being made in the United Nations, our partners in peace, the Russians and Chinese, see fit to veto Security Council resolutions to stop the carnage.

So much for our "reset" relations with the Russian and Chinese governments. Both issued veto's against the latest U.S.-sponsored resolution in the Security Council.

Meanwhile in Egypt, the new regime is holding 19 Americans and threatening them with a trial notwithstanding the fact that we provide Egypt with over one billion dollars in aid.

Again, our increased standing in the Arab street brought about by our leader who proclaimed how he would gain the respect of the world. Someone should wake up this pathetic narcissistic person who believes he can walk on water and lower the seas.

And he recently issued his ruling on what insurance companies must provide free of charge. I thought we finally had agreed that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone must pay for whatever is handed out to others as free.

Just look at the western European nations that are on the brink of financial ruination after following the very proposals the administration is proposing for our country. When do we ever learn the lessons of history?

We are just now beginning to learn what was in the more than 2,000 pages of "Obamacare" and it is not good. Remember "pass this bill so we can find out what's in it," stated by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she urged passage.

Well, it passed, and soon people will pay a 3.8 percent tax on the sale of their home to pay for this monstrosity. Welcome to the world of a community organizer who never held a real job in his life.
