SPRING HILL A 13-year-old boy was accused of pulling a knife on his mother's fiancé Tuesday night out of retaliation.

The teen, whose name is being withheld by Hernando Today because he is a juvenile, was charged with aggravated assault.

The accuser was verbally disciplining the teen, who was growing increasingly defiant, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.

The accuser responded by physically disciplining the boy, deputies said.

Moments later, the boy fetched a knife with a 6-inch blade and threatened the accuser, according to an arrest affidavit.

The teen's mother seized the knife and the authorities were called, deputies said.

The suspect was booked around 9 p.m. at the Hernando County Jail. The Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted and the boy was released to his parents.

He was placed on house arrest.
