The county will kick off its budget season with a workshop Tuesday.
Board members will discuss several hot-button items, including new legislation designed to clamp down on sinkhole scams and the use of recurring revenues to fund operational expenses.
Also on the agenda is the concept of 'shared services,' which would save money by eliminating redundant operations among county departments and constitutional officers.
Commissioners also will discuss preliminary estimates of a 5 percent property value reduction, which will further reduce revenues.

The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main St. in downtown Brooksville.
