Rebuttal to Secretary of Education Arne Duncan:
No, Mr. Duncan, the problem is not the bank loans to students. If they ask for loans they should pay interest and, in the end, repay their loans just like everyone else.
The problem is that the U.S. government has once again stuck its nose into areas not provided for in the Constitution. Show me where in the Constitution it says you can take over the education of our children. This is a parental problem and a states rights problem.
What we need to do is kick you out of your cushy, high-paying and useless job in Washington, D.C., and send you back out in the economy where you have to work for a living like the rest of us. This would help us by keeping you out of my pocket every year. Not paying your salary, your department and its departmental expenses and stopping your "give it away because it's not mine attitude" would do much to reduce our national debt. It would at the same time improve my financial situation.
The government has for years been pouring money into our schools in various forms, and it has been proven beyond doubt that our students have only become less educated. Just look at the stats, Mr. Duncan.
Please, Mr. Duncan, go away and take your Department of Education with you.
