The Salvation Army of Hernando County would like to express its deepest appreciation for your continued support throughout 2009. Because of your support, we were able to serve more than 6,272 people in Hernando County with following services: food pantry, utilities, summer camping program, back-to-school back-pack program, and counseling and referrals.
Also, during our Thanksgiving and Christmas season, we served 2,758 people with Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas basket and gift cards. We distributed:
•348 Thanksgiving baskets and 313 gift cards.
•410 Christmas baskets and 392 gift cards.
•11,050 Toys distributed for Christmas.
•5,103 other gifts distributed to nursing homes, jails and community outreach services.
During the Christmas season, we had more than 25 locations throughout Hernando County that participated in our Red Kettle Program. Also, we were privileged to participate in the U.S. Postal Food Drive in the spring, which helped to support our food pantry. Thank you to all of you who contributed continually to our food pantry. It is because of you that we were able to serve the number of people that we did.
Here at the Salvation Army of Hernando County, we not only have our social services but we also have Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. and Tuesday Bible study at 5 p.m.
Again, we thank you for all that you do to support the Salvation Army of Hernando County.
Lt. Samuel Kim, commander,
