A divided Congress, bending to special interests, uses thousands of words discussing conflicting plans for health care reform without reaching a decision. Time and money thereby is wasted. Fifty words is sufficient to enact prompt reform as follows:
Eliminate fraud and abuse from Medicare and Medicaid. Make benefits of both programs available to all citizens and residents. Disallow excessive profits and charges when reimbursing providers of necessary cares. Finally, replace insurance by an added percentage of income tax paid supplemented by less aid - often wasted - to other countries.
