A man was charged with resisting arrest and assault and battery of a law enforcement officer after he tussled with two deputies who had wielded stun guns, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded shortly after 10 p.m. Monday to 2357 Restmere Lane after reports of a verbal disturbance.
David A. Camp became angry after two deputies - a male and female - arrived at his home. He threatened to grab a gun and shoot the male deputy, according to an arrest report.
When the deputy moved in to arrest him, Camp stepped back and went into a boxing stance, authorities said.
The female deputy, Lauren Aleski, pulled out her stun gun, at which time Camp grabbed her hand and tried to take it from her, according to the sheriff's office.
The male deputy, Brian Smith, attempted to use his stun gun before Camp moved toward him and grabbed his hand, authorities said.
Smith stepped back, regained control of the stun gun and Camp eventually was taken into custody, the report showed.
The suspect was charged with resisting arrest, two counts of assault and battery of a law enforcement officer and depriving an officer of protection.
Camp was transported to the Hernando County Jail and his bond was set at $31,000.
