Roy and Tawana Spring hosted on Friday, July 16 a celebration for the late Brittany Nicole Arsenault. It would have been her 21{+s}{+t} birthday. She died on Jan. 15 this year. They celebrated the birthday with hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and other foods. Family members attending were Brittany's 3-year-old daughter Makenzee Lynn Aguiar, Brit's mother Melanie Olson, her father Mike "Catfish" Arsenault, Mackenzee's daddy Tyson Aguiar, lifelong friend Bianca Rose Marshott and her son Zackary Marshott, and several friends and relatives that loved Brittany and will always miss her.
As a token, they sent 21 balloons off to heaven. Tawana, Makenzee and Sammie Jo Wood, our Fourth of July birthday girl, baked a birthday cake in Tawana's kitchen. Roy and Tawana planted a tree for Brit and have planted shrubs and flowers. Everyone brought a flower, a pink one because pink was Brit's color, and placed them around the tree. Makenzee lit a candle, and everyone said a prayer. It was great. A quote from Tawana, "To everyone who reads this, please say a prayer for little Makenzee who will never forget her mother Brittany. Because those of us who knew and loved Brit, Brit will never let that happen." In loving memory of Brittany. You may be gone but you, our angel, will never be forgotten.

Another mix-up in last week's column about the christening of baby Briana Hucko. It should read, "Great-grandma Millie Hucko Otruba and Godmother is April Lytell of Tampa." Sorry, folks.
