Nazdar,
There will be a fish dinner on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church between Ayers Road and County Line Road from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Take-outs will be available. The church will serve fried or baked fish, parsley potatoes, vegetables, desserts, and a beverage. The cost is $7 a plate for adults and $3 for 12 and under. On the kiddie menu is macaroni and cheese and a hot dog, dessert and beverage.
For more information, you can call the church secretary from 9 a.m. to noon at 352-796-4066. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church thanks everyone who enjoyed the pork dinner. All funds went to food pantry. They still accept all donations of food stuffs or cash. Last week's count went to 80 of food that was distributed. They still need plastic bags the size of the newspaper covers but no more egg cartons. They also need items for our servicemen and servicewomen overseas - deodorants, shampoos, toothbrushes, dental floss, female hygiene items, insect repellent, men's shaving supplies, health food snacks, used DVDs, phone cards, and devotionals. Valentine's Day is coming - when you get your sweetie a sweetie, get your service people something at the same time. These folks really deserve it, and they are truly thankful.
The 29th wedding anniversary of Joseph and Tina Finley was celebrated at the Texas Roadhouse Restaurant on Jan. 23. Celebrating with them was their daughter, Savannah Gavish, Jacob Gavish, their son-in-law and their granddaughters Lili and Jaden, Joseph's mother Neva Finley, sister Faye Finley Ybarra and several other brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. All had a grand time and wish them 29 more.
Wilfred Weber, who is near 88 years old, used to live and help all friends and neighbors. He moved several years ago to Canada, someplace by Canada's Niagara Falls. He was the type of person who would help whoever, wherever, whenever, and help whatever they needed help with. Well he's doing the same thing up there. Recently he called one of the neighbors on Monroe Avenue - Joy Weld. He sends a big hello and regards to all.
Sympathies are sent to Mona Premorel who recently returned a couple of weeks ago. First stop was to Manchester, N.H. to attend the funeral of her 43-year-old son Michael Anthony Simpson Jr., then to Marlboro, Mass. to stay a bit with her daughter Sharon Imperato and family. Then she went to visit other daughter Meredith Greco and family in Holden, Mass. Your son may be gone but is not forgotten.
Now to the other half, Chuck Premorel, was at Spring Hill Regional Hospital Wednesday morning; and Mona got back home from Massachusetts Wednesday afternoon. Just in time to take care of Chuck with some of Mama Mona's chicken soup. Great stuff; he's feeling better already. Greatly improved. Wishing both of you, in your separate needs, love and prayers.
Get well wishes go to Anna Placko, who was at Bayonet Point Hospital. She feels a bit better and is at home now. We pray you have a speedy recovery.
