A woman was arrested Monday and charged with misdemeanor battery after she threw an electronic device at her ex-boyfriend and hit and scratched him during a fight, deputies said.
Christina L. Stephan, 28, arrived shortly before 5:30 p.m. at 2232 Long View Circle to return some of her former boyfriend's property, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Stephan pulled into the driveway and honked the horn repeatedly, deputies said.
The victim walked outside to retrieve his items when Stephan opened the passenger door and threw a global positioning system at him, according to an arrest report.
She got out of the car and starting hitting the victim, at which time he grabbed her and pinned her, deputies said.
He let Stephan go and she continued to hit him, according to the report.
The victim had several scratches on his face and neck, deputies said.
Two witnesses corroborated the victim's claims. Stephan, in turn, said her ex-boyfriend charged her, threw her against the car and began choking her, according to the report.
She told deputies she hit him in self-defense.
Stephan suffered no visible injuries, deputies said.
Her bond was set at $500.
