The LifeSouth Bloodmobile will be at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10. The church is located on U.S. 41 between Ayers Road and County Line Road. For more details, call 352-796-4066 from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. The life you save may be your own.

We had some more holiday travelers. Our town secretary Linda Lovelady and her husband Tom went to Tallahassee from Dec. 18 to Dec. 22 to visit their daughter Amy and her husband Matt Mitchell and their baby daughter Madelyn. Now you know Grandma Linda never let go of that baby for four days. They were joined for a couple of days by son Ryan Lovelady and his wife Amy from Gainesville. All enjoyed a very happy early holiday.

On Dec. 19, Helen and new hubby Dave Marcum and Helen's daughters Stephanie and Rebecca gathered Helen Havens and drove to Coral Gables to attend an 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass for Havens' niece Frances Huhn and drove home the same day. Rested up a day or so. They attended candlelight services at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, kept Grandma Havens overnight, and next day Helen made a big Christmas dinner at their home. A good yule was had by all.

Diana Rodriguez is home from the rehab. She is at the home of her mother-in-law Povi and her husband Shorty Torres. Now Diana's husband is George (the Christmas House) Rodriguez and Povi is his mother. On Christmas Eve, they enjoyed dinner at the Torres' home, joined by longtime friend Virginia Ver. All enjoyed a great meal and visit. On Dec. 25, Virginia joined friends Ramon and Audia Diaz. They had a houseful, their own family, other relatives from all over the county and Puerto Rico. There was food galore and good wishes to all.

St. Anthony, the Abbot, Catholic Church at 20428 Cortez Blvd. will have a special bingo on Saturday, Jan. 9. Dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m.; games start at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $35 per person. For more information, call 352-596-0382 or 596-4737.

Masaryktown annual bingo marathon will be on Feb. 20. Doors open at 9 a.m.; the double session of bingo and dinner cost is $60 per person. Tickets are on sale at the bingo games Wednesday after 4 p.m. and Sunday. More information to follow.
