Sager to speak at 9.12 Project event
Jason Sager, candidate for District 5 U.S. House of Representatives, will be the guest speaker at Nature Coast 9.12 Project from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Spring Hill Lanes Lounge, 3447 U.S. 19, Spring Hill.

Second Republican files to run against Brown-Waite
Leodon Killinger Sr., who lives in the Villages in Sumter County, has filed to run against incumbent Republican Ginny Brown-Waite for the 5th District U.S. House seat.
Killinger, a Republican, filed on Feb. 24, according to the Florida Division of Elections.
The only other Republican running against Brown-Waite is Jason Sager. Her Democratic challengers are Jim Piccillo, Thomas Doolan and David Werder.
Brown-Waite recently announced she will seek a fifth term.
Tea Party advocate runs for House seat
INVERNESS - Republican Jimmie Smith, who is active in the Tea Party movement, is running against the Republican incumbent Ron Schultz in the District 43 House race.
Smith filed on Feb. 23, according to the Florida Division of Elections. There are no other candidates in that race.
In June 2007, Republican Schultz, 71, of Homosassa was elected to the House in a special election. He was reelected the following year.
District 43 covers Citrus, Hernando and Levy counties.
