Find a mate, then investigate

Thank you for publishing "The heart never grows old," written by Jody Bowes in the Feb. 14 edition of Hernando Today.

Al and I had several calls asking for advice on the advantages and disadvantages concerning online dating.

I registered on several dating sites for three years before finding love. My female's point of view is the four letter word for "love" should be "slow."

My advice is to be careful and ask a lot of questions. I think it odd, employers carefully conduct interviews and a background check for a person he may hire, yet we "fall in love" with no thought of our mate's background and history, only what they say.

The fact of the matter is we do not screen dates we are going to commit ourselves for the rest of our life. To "fall" means no control. Fall in love after a screening and background check.

Find a mate and then investigate.
