Area Deaths

John F. Elder, 82, of Weeki Wachee, died Friday, Feb. 5. He was born in Bayonne, N.J., and moved to Florida 51 years ago.
Mr. Elder retired from the Veterans Administration working as a veterans counselor. He was a Korean conflict U.S. Army Air Corp veteran and coached Little League Baseball for several years in St. Petersburg.
Survivors include a son, Keith of Miami; a daughter, Kim Turner of Weeki Wachee; a brother, Edward J. of New Jersey; a sister; Audrey Paraskvas of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

Darlene C. Meeks, 76, of Brooksville, died Saturday, Feb. 6, at Shands at UF in Gainesville.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; three sons, Phillip, Stephen and Mark; and a daughter, Elizabeth.

Steve Scrivani, 94, of Spring Hill, died Saturday, Feb 6. He was born in New York.
He is survived by his family.

Ruth Laura Eagle, 94, of Spring Hill, died Monday, Feb. 8, at Hospice. She was born in Livonia, Mich., and moved to this area 17 years ago from Virginia.
Survivors include two sons, Reed Eagle Jr. of Spring Hill and Robert Eagle of Louisville, Ky.
