Deserving recognition

What can I say about another Teacher of the Year award presentation that has not already been said? Each year it is such a meaningful event. Thanks to the Hernando County Education Foundation and the leadership of Gus Guadagnino it has been another successful year. Each year, the selection committee becomes more educated in the process.

Every teacher that has been nominated from their respective school is a winner and to think that out of all those 'winners' just one can be picked to represent Hernando County - it is quite a responsibility to say the least. Case in point - I personally chose eight winners but somehow Mr. Guadagnino did not go along with my 'new rules.' I am sure the Education Foundation has been getting along fine since 1988 without my 'new rules.'

I do want to share with all of you that after having served on the selection committee I am so proud to see teachers who are so dedicated to their profession. It should make you, as parents, feel equally proud.

Bouquets all around and a special bouquet to the Education Foundation for going the extra mile to honor such professionals in education in such an awesome way. Thank you.
