»  Comments | Post a Comment

Digital Bookmobile National Tour will showcase its free audiobook, eBook and music download service from the Hernando County Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Spring Hill Branch located at 9220 Spring Hill Drive, between Mariner Boulevard and Waterfall Drive. Readers of all ages will learn how to download digital books from the library through interactive demonstrations and high-definition instructional videos. A gadget gallery featuring iPod®, Zune®, and Sony® Reader™ will help visitors discover portable devices that are compatible with the library's download service.

The Digital Bookmobile is housed inside an 18-wheel tractor-trailer. The 74-foot community outreach vehicle is a high-tech update of the traditional bookmobile that has served communities for decades. The vehicle is equipped with broadband Internet-connected PCs, high-definition monitors, premium sound systems, and a variety of portable media players, all of which will help visitors explore Hernando County Public Library's download service.

Library card holders can also check out and download digital titles any time, anywhere by visiting http://digitalbooks.tblc.org. At the end of the lending period, titles will automatically expire and will return to the digital collection. Therefore, late fees will never be incurred and items cannot be damaged. For more information, call the library at 352-540-6374.
