I am writing on behalf of the Snyder, Balogh and Carrillo families in regard to the newspaper report on the fatal crash in Brooksville on Saturday.
We are greatly disturbed at the lack of details in the story which has opened this situation up to harsh, judgmental people who assume drinking and speeding were involved.
We find it very upsetting that more hasn't been said or updated about it.
The Florida Highway Patrol told the family that he wasn't speeding but lost control of the truck due to water on the roads. There was no drinking involved. Also, there is confusion about the seat belt. His wife of only three weeks, whose injuries were not as serious as reports said, claims that she is 100 percent sure that his seat belt was on.
As this is all so fresh, we hope it all can get sorted out. As a close family member to the deceased, myself and the family, I want Daryl (Darb to all close to him) to be remembered for the wonderful person and husband he was. There was never a dull moment with him, and you could always count on laughs with Darb around.
He was loved very much. He loved his wife so much, and it is devastating that their time together ended so soon.
