Let's decide: U.N. or U.S.?

As if we haven't enough problems to deal with these days, there is lurking in the background a host of sinister issues that will have to be dealt with. The main problem is the United Nations. That organization, overrun with tyrants, dictators and brutal despots, is surviving on the huge dues the U.S. taxpayers provide.

Just a short time ago, the U.S. was not interested in the Small Arms Treaty, but it seems that Secretary of State Clinton is now in favor of discussion of the Treaty. It is amazing how the left leaning radicals never give up. Unfazed by the Supreme Court's rulings that have upheld the citizens' right to bear arms, they try another route to undermine our Constitution.

They are an insidious group that keeps moving toward its goal of destroying capitalism and the United States. Countries that have confiscated and destroyed their citizens' small arms have done nothing but give the advantage to the criminal element. I think statistics will bear the crime rate has increased in such places as Great Britain and Australia. While they both are more homogenous nations, we in the U.S. with such a diversity of people might fare even worse should the gun-banners get their way. It is interesting now to see the debate about the Second Amendment as to whether it applies to the various states.

Back in the 1960s, when the Warren Court imposed the Miranda warnings on local and state law enforcement, they applied the constitutional requirements without regard as to whether those safeguards were intended for the federal police only. Confessions, searches and the interrogation of criminal suspects were immediately impacted. There is another treaty that would allegedly give the U.N. the right to impose taxes on the citizens of the United States. This to me is an abomination that should be rejected out of hand. It is bad enough our tax money is paid to the opulent dignitaries who live, eat and drink excessively. I can personally attest to the foregoing, as I witnessed it firsthand.

At a conference that was held several years ago, it was reported about the extravagant food that was flown in along with the adult beverages. They (U.N.) have been impotent since their inception but have lined the pockets of their executives such as the "Food for Oil" fiasco documented. How soon we forget! Countries on the Human Rights Committee are the worst offenders of human rights on the planet. Then we have the Law of The Sea (LOST) that would certainly threaten our sovereignty and give control of the world's oceans to the U.N. Also, the establishment of the International Criminal Court would give jurisdiction to a foreign court to try American military personnel for such things as alleged war crimes. I will have to do more research on this subject and report back with what I have found out.

If I can substantiate the truth of these so-called treaties, then we in America better make sure we have 34 senators who will vote no and prevent these abortions from ever being accepted by this country.
