A homeowner left his house for an hour Monday and returned to see his living room filled with black smoke, firefighters said.
Damien Dross, 28, of 2385 Bishop Road, called 911 shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to a Hernando County Sheriff's report.
The fire was extinguished and the state fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate, firefighters said.
Early reports indicate it was an electrical fire, according to the report.
