Warm weather won't be celebrating the holiday weekend with temperatures dipping into the mid 30s by Saturday before temperatures inch back up to normal by early next week.
Jennifer Colson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service, said following Wednesday's rain, temperatures would progressively drop each night leading to Saturday - from the low 50s Wednesday night, to the mid 30s Saturday morning.
Daytime highs would remain at the mid 60s to low 70s.
"Those (daytime low) temperatures are well below normal," Colson said. "But the daytime highs should be just a couple of degrees cooler than average. It'll then take a few days for temperatures to rebound back to normal, which is in the mid 70s range for a high."
For the last few months, Colson said there have been a few days, but not all, where temperatures have been higher than normal for the time of year-with daytime highs reaching to the mid to upper 80s.
However, she said early next week, temperatures will likely stay in the low 50s to mid 70s.
As for the cold temperatures this weekend, Colson said the low temperatures shouldn't cause any trouble - other than causing people to bundle up.
"There's no concern about freezing - not for the foreseeable future," Colson said. "There is always that potential between December and February, but no, not this weekend."
