Health care 101

Two quick points about recent letters regarding health care:

• Note to Jack Welch, "Health care a right," in the Nov. 18 edition of Hernando Today: Nowhere in the Bill of Rights does it say that government paid (taxpayer paid) health care is a right.

Also, Mr. Welch calls the final vote to the bill - titled "HR 3962 Affordable Health Care for America Act" - a bipartisan majority of the U.S. House of Representatives. I have news for you, Mr. Welch, one Republican voted "yea" on this ridiculous bill and 179 voted "nay." That is not an example of bipartisanship even under liberal standards. By the way, 39 Democrats voted against this bill.

• My formula for 2010 elections and beyond: If you voted "yea" on this bill, I am voting "nay" to your re-election.
