Our congresswoman, U.S. Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite, R-Brooksville, continues to show her lack of concern about her constituents' health care while pursuing trivia like attacking the president about the honor he received from the Noble Committee.
She is lightly regarded by her colleagues in Congress and shows that she does not have the power to make her own decisions about health care, but takes her orders from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and the health insurance lobby.
One would hope that she could begin looking to the future of our district and country instead of looking back to the past and the history of her party opposing every progressive enactment by our government.
Her party has opposed, anti-trust legislation, the five-day work week, the 40-hour work week, Social Security, Medicare, overtime legislation, free public education through the 12th grade, the GI Bill, the Marshall Plan and more that do not come immediately to mind.
Come on, Ginny, look ahead and become part of history instead of opposing it.
