Clerk of Court Karen Nicolai announced Thursday the Hernando County citizens' annual report received an award for outstanding achievement in popular reporting from an independent panel of reviewers with the National Government Finance Officers Association.
The clerk's office, in conjunction with county commissioners, produces the annual report, a condensed version of the financial and operational activity of the county.
"It's exciting to have various areas of the county come together to produce such a wonderful and publicly recognized document," Nicolai said in a statement.
