Cure for the afflicted

In this germ-laden world, we are constantly being attacked by viruses of every ilk. I believe I have detected a new virus infecting some of your readers and I call this affliction "myopia magnificationus."

It seems to be particularly endemic among the local leftists and is making significant inroads in the liberal population.

The condition affects its host in various ways. In some cases, a leftist infested with this virus can be shortsighted enough to see a single sign in a 1.7 million-person dissent assembly, can project a violent message in the sign and magnify the result to ascribe seditious intent to the entire 1.7 million assembled.

In other cases, the afflicted will rail about single mothers having a hard time and America doing nothing to help. They ignore the existence of unemployment programs, S-CHIP, Wic, welfare and food stamps so America's heartlessness is magnified. They hear (see) that there are 43 million Americans without health insurance and magnify this figure to conclude that 43 million don't have essential health care.

I could go on but to what purpose? There are only two ways to inoculate these afflicted people.

A trip to almost any other country on Earth would give them a better and more balanced view of the wonderful place that is America. If they found their paradise, they could also stay. What a wonderful solution.

The only other known cure is to institutionalize the afflicted and require that they listen to "Talk Radio" for six hours a day for an entire year.
