Area deaths

Donald S. Snider, 78, of Spring Hill died, Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.
Mr. Snider was born in Sandridge, Ill. and came to this area five years ago from Clearwater. He was a lineman for GTE in Florida, a manager for his son's little league baseball team in Dunedin, former member of Dunedin Lions Club, U.S. Army Korean Conflict and Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his wife: Carol E.; son, Ronald S. Snider of Brooksville; daughters: C. Denise Prescott of Apopka, Debra Snider of Spring Hill; brothers: Jim Snider of Chester, Ill., Dean Snider of Murphysboro, Ill., Gene Snider of Marion, Ill., Lyle Snider of Boise, Idaho and three grandchildren.

Joyce M. Turffs, 71, of Spring Hill died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. Mrs. Turffs came to this area 16 years ago from Elmhurst, Ill. She was a homemaker but did work for a short time as a real estate agent and secretary for Chrysler. She was a Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include her husband: Robert E.; sons: Troy Comiskey and Kurt Comiskey; daughters: Cheryl Maumann and Dawn Castle; brothers: Randy Marema and Preston Petersen; sisters: Jean Lutz and Janet Belau and 14 grandchildren.
