Deputies Defuse Standoff Without Injury

Deputies defused a four-hour standoff with a man at a home on the 12000 block of Rock Duck Road by deploying a "light chemical irritant," the sheriff's office says.
The irritant was used around 8 p.m. Tuesday after the man refused to cooperate with with negotiators.
The irritant drove the man from the house, where he peacefully surrendered to deputies andwas taken to a local medical facility for mental evaluation.
Neither the man nor the deputies involved were injured.
Negotiators and the SWAT team surrounded the property earlier Tuesday north of Centralia Road, near Lelani Drive. The man had threatened suicide by cop.
The man had left his house and is carrying a revolver, according to radio traffic.
